Most of what we do differently comes from one decision: we book the practical when a mock test says you will pass, and not before. Everything else follows from that.
Two minutes, and you will speak to an instructor.
We update availability every Monday.

The thing that started this was watching perfectly competent learners fail, rebook eight weeks later, and lose most of what they had in the wait.
Almost none of them were bad drivers. They had been put in for the test because they had done a certain number of hours, or because a slot came up, or because they wanted to get on with it. Nobody had checked properly whether they were ready.
So we do check, with a mock on the real routes marked the way an examiner marks it. It is slower to get to the test and considerably faster to get through it, and it is why the first-time figure looks the way it does.
None of them are unusual on their own. Together they are most of the difference.
An hour loses a quarter of itself to getting somewhere useful and back. Two hours is the same money per hour and considerably more driving.
You are matched to a person, not added to a rota. Changing instructor mid-course costs you hours while somebody new works out where you are.
What you did, what is next, and roughly where you are against test standard. You get it, not just us.
On the actual routes, marked the way an examiner marks. It is the only honest way to know whether you are ready.
Because a learner who cannot book a practical is stuck, and the theory is the usual reason.
Standard, and worth saying out loud because a learner in an uninsured car is a serious problem.
Four things we turn down, and the reason for each.
A failed test costs you the fee, the waiting time and a fair bit of confidence. We book it after the mock says you will pass.
They suit people who already drive something, or who learn fast under pressure. For most learners they are an expensive way to forget things.
Two lessons in, if it is not working, we move you. No charge and no awkward conversation.
If you are nearly there we will tell you rather than book another ten. It is a shorter invoice and a better outcome.
The instructors in the car and the person who answers the phone. Ask for any of them by name.
Tell us whether you have driven before and how often you can get out. We come back with a realistic number of hours, what it costs and who has slots.
